Sodium Acetate

Sodium Acetate is the sodium salt of acetic acid. It is a colorless deliquescent salt that is developed by reacting acetic acid with sodium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate or sodium hydroxide. It is widely used in the textile industry for neutralizing sulfuric acid waste streams while using aniline dyes. This is also used as a pickling agent in chrome tanning. It also aids to slow down vulcanization of chloroprene in the production process of synthetic rubber. Sodium acetate is also utilized to eliminate the buildup of stagnant electricity. It is provided in bulk quantities according to the different industrial and commercial needs.

Applications of Sodium Acetate:

• Used to mitigate water damage by acting as a concrete sealant
• Used as a seasoning of food
• Act as a buffer for keeping a relatively constant pH level
• Used in heating pads, hot ice and hand warmers
